In 2006, PROMEGA extended its range with a new product division. Bar steel imported from India set a new benchmark for European procurement. At the time, we relied on our extremely diverse and extensive stocks to satisfy the need for round bar, flat rolled, square bar and hexagon steel of various qualities and dimensions. Market developments and changes in our customers’ purchasing and procurement processes inspired us to limit or give up our multifaceted supply – PROMEGA acting as a single-source supplier as it were – and to focus on specific qualities and dimensions instead.
For over 10 years now, we have been running one of the largest 1.4104 quality bar steel warehouses in the German-speaking region, a quality that was originally planned to be an alternative to quality 1.4305.
